Missing person around Yes Tor.
NDSART were alerted to a missing person at 03:30 and called on the help of our sister team, Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Tavistock at 04:39 who aided us in searching the north of Dartmoor.
A serviceman had not returned from a solo night navigation exercise and there were concerns for his welfare. In total, we deployed four search parties and a search dog team to search around Yes Tor, West Mill Tor, Red-a-ven Brook and across Okehampton Common.
Shortly after sunrise, we were told that the subject of the search had self-recovered to base and was fit and well.
We were stood down at 8 am.
Vehicles used: Dart 51, Dart 61 and Dart 01 (Control).
