The Team were called out to assist a missing walker and dog from a known location near Yes Tor at 14:20, who had become disorientated and lost due to the low cloud.
Upon finding the missing pair, the owner had no immediate medical concerns. However, the individual’s dog had collapsed and was unable to walk.
Team Members carried the dog back and escorted the individual to one of the Team land rovers parked close by and drove both down to the vets at Okeford Veterinary Centre in Okehampton. Team Members phoned ahead to the vets and staff were waiting for the Team’s arrival.
We were updated on the dog’s situation on Friday afternoon and the dog was transferred to the Veterinary Hospital in Exeter overnight due to low glucose levels and is now back home awaiting blood results.
We wish the dog a speedy recovery.
