North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team and Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Ashburton were called after midnight on Thursday 12 October to support Devon & Cornwall Police and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service in the search for a vulnerable teenager.
Five hill parties and team Land rovers were deployed from both Incident Control Units to search 30 high-probability areas throughout the night during the yellow weather warning for rain, focusing on urban and parkland regions near the last point seen in the city.
All Dartmoor Search and Rescue Teams were stood down at 06:19 as Police continued investigating and further searches with the help of a public appeal for the missing person. Who was later found on Friday safe and well around 14:00 by Devon and Cornwall Police.
