NDSART were called at 00:20 to assist our sister teams: Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Ashburton and Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Tavistock in an ongoing search for a missing person who had been missing since 6 pm the previous evening.
A multi-agency search was conducted out of Dunnabridge Pound, across open moorland, Bellever Tor, Bellever Forest and Laughter Tor which included @Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England and HM Coastguard supporting the search and rescue operation.
The Team were tasked with searching around Combestone Tor, Holne Moor, Holne Ridge and Ryder’s Hill. Team members found the missing individual in the thick fog and rain at 06:00. A team casualty carer assessed the casualty before walking them back to our Control Vehicle and handing them over to emergency services.
The Team were stood down at 07:00 with the casualty returned safe and well.
