A busy (and windy) day for many yesterday!

As many of you are aware the team were on STANDBY, from various locations in Devon, yesterday. We and other teams in the county were dispatched with the assistance of Devon & Cornwall 4×4 Response, as our drivers to jobs.

The major incident was ran from a “Silver SARCELL” this was staffed from the SAR LRF (Search and Rescue Local Resilience Forum).
6 PenMaCRA teams were tasked from here, with Exmoor Search & Rescue Team being tasked by Avon and Somerset Police. Martyn E from Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Ashburton was Silver Lead for PenMaCRA overnight.

Then, Martin from North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team took over as PenMaCRA Silver Lead, in the early hours of the morning.
Each Silver Lead had an invaluable assistant to keep the Decision Log. For DSRT Ashburton it was one of their members, Matt. As for NDSART it was one of our members, and team secretary, Susan!

All this allowed the SARCELL to feed information to the teams, more easily, who were on STANDBY and allocate resources where needed most.

A great effort, from so many agencies, led to a very successful management of the incident.
