Who pays for the NDSRT?
Being a voluntary organisation, members are unpaid and give their time and expertise free to the Team. It may come as a surprise to know that the Team is funded entirely by donations and grants. As a registered charity the Team raises all the necessary money to buy and maintain all equipment, vehicles and rescue centre. With average annual running costs of around £10,000, it calls for a lot fundraising events and manpower by the members.
We are lucky to have attracted several sponsors over the years who have supplied us with clothing, equipment or money enabling the Team to continue. Such sponsors have in return received valuable publicity and PR from the association with the Team.
We also receive many donations and the occasional bequest from the local and surrounding communities. The NDSRT is extremely grateful for their support and generosity.
As part of the fundraising effort we have a stock of branded merchandise for which we are allowed to accept donations for. These can be ordered directly from this website or at one of the many events we hold in Okehampton and surrounding area.
