The team responded to a call at 6pm to search for a 11yr old who had been missing since lunchtime. Team members began searching and within 2hrs the boy was located on his way back home.

Team called out to locate missing person. Stood down en-route.

(5a) 31st January 2010. Launceston, Cornwall.

Following on from the callout yesterday, the team were called to assist continue the search.  The search has now lasted 3 days with teams from DRG Tavistock, Cornwall SRT and SARDA. The search has attracted a lot of publicity. The Missing person was last seen in the early hours of Thursday night in a despondent state and there has been no sign of him since then.

Extensive searching has been done around the PLS (Place Last Seen) and where sightings (which have come to nothing) were reported. Given the poor weather conditions, fears have grown for his survival. Police investigations will still continue but today we agreed to suspend the search until such time that there is definite physical evidence/clues of his whereabouts.

(5) 30th January 2010, Launceston Cornwall

The team were called out to assist Cornwall SRT to locate a missing despondent male. The search lasted until dusk and the team stood-down with nothing found.

(4) 18th January 2010. Exeter

The Team was called out to help search for a 58 year old man who had gone missing from the car park at Sainsbury's, Pinhoe in Exeter.
Police had started a comprehensive search of the surrounding area, believing that the missing person, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease, may have tried to walk to B&Q's at the Sowton industrial estate. The Police asked for our assistance late in the evening as they were becoming increasingly concerned for the man's safety.

37 members from the Okehampton and Ashburton Teams were deployed to search the area.
He was eventually spotted by Police helicopter, Oscar 99, in a ditch close to B&Q around 02.00am. He was assessed by medics, found to be reasonably well, and transported to hospital.

(3) 16th January 2010. Pathfinder, Devon

To assist police to search for a 29 year old female described as despondent. No sooner than the message to deploy the Team had been sent, the police control contacted us to stand-down as the missing person had been located.

(2) 10th January 2010, Okehampton

The ambulance station in the town requested the use of our Landrover, Ada, to ferry a paramedic for 999 calls during the period of heavy snow in the area. Two members of the Team volunteered to drive the vehicle during the day and late into the evening. Between them they attended three 999 callouts.

(1) 2nd January 2010. Dolton, Devon

The Team was called to look for a missing Female in the Dolton Area. Whilst on route the team was stood-down as the missing person had been found.
